We at The Readers create our glasses with organic and biodegradable acetate to allow for a more natural decomposition, thus reducing their environmental impact.
WHAT IS BIO ACETATE?
The organic acetate we use at The Readers is a biodegradable material produced from cotton fibers and plant-based plasticizers, which come from renewable sources. It’s a more natural version of standard acetate, since it doesn’t use fossil-based plasticizers and is just as durable, comfortable and high quality.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BIO AND REGULAR ACETATE
We at The Readers have found a way to replace fossil-based plasticizers with organic ones. As a result, the bio acetate we use in our frames makes them easier to decompose, as their organic content is higher than in standard ones.
